Amber is part of The Macallan’s new no age statement range of Speyside single malts, which concentrates on colour. The theory is that by using 100% sherry casks and natural colour, the darker the whisky, the older and more complex.

Macallan A Night On Earth In Scotland 2022 Erica Dorn 70cl, 43%
The 2022 release of The Macallan A Night on Earth in Scotland. Full of symbolism linked to Scotland’s Hogmanay celebrations on the 31st of December and the ‘first footing’ tradition, where it’s good luck for the first person welcomed into your home after midnight to bring whisky, shortbread and coal. There are shortbread notes aplenty in this Highland single malt, coming through from bourbon barrels, and sweet festive spice from sherry seasoned American and European oak casks. Presented in a box with artwork by Erica Dorn, with the red colours representing the warm fire from the coal. A fabulous whisky to have on hand for festivities, it pairs wonderfully with shortbread of course!

Macallan A Night On Earth In Scotland 2021 Erica Dorn 70cl, 40%
The first in a series of annual releases from The Macallan, the wonderfully titled A Night on Earth in Scotland is inspired by Hogmanay, Scotland’s New Year’s Eve celebration. Created by Macallan lead whisky maker Sarah Burgess, whose memories of Hogmanay were a key influence to the expression, this single malt features whiskies aged in American and European oak sherry seasoned casks, as well as ex-bourbon barrels.
Those ex-bourbon barrels have imparted a distinctive helping of vanilla notes to the whisky, an homage to the ‘first footer’, a custom of Hogmanay where it’s supposed to be good luck for a dark-haired person to be the first to visit your home after midnight on New Year. Apparently, the ‘first footer’ will be carrying shortbread (that’s where the vanilla notes we were talking about come into this), whisky, and coal for the fire.
A Night on Earth in Scotland features designs by Japanese-French illustrator Erica Dorn, once again inspired by the New Year celebrations around the world.

Edrington has added another ultra-premium extension to The Macallan’s portfolio, this time unveiling a 30-year-old single malt Scotch whisky.
Sitting in the brand’s ‘Double Cask’ series, the single malt consists of liquid matured in both Sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks. The Macallan Double Cask 30 Years Old joins the ‘gold’, 12-, 15- and 18-year-old expressions in the series.
The Macallan Double Cask 30 Years Old, aged for thirty years in a harmonious union of American and European oak sherry seasoned casks, to create a unique taste and character.
Acclaimed photographer and artist Erik Madigan Heck was inspired by nature and the landscape of The Macallan Estate when capturing the complex flavour of The Macallan Double Cask 30 Years Old.
The whisky itself is a rich and luxurious medley of flavour, and Erik Madigan Heck used natural light to capture this depth of character in his still life. The reflective surface enhances the idea of flavours blending– almost as if seamlessly merging together as one – with the soft focus echoing the long-lasting taste experience.
The whisky’s golden acorn natural colour is the focal point of the shot. Its rich tone and translucent glow has influenced the colour palette of the piece as a whole, with the soft caramels and browns and pops of red and green once more showcasing the depth of its flavour profile.
Macallan 30 Year Old Double Cask 2021 (70cl, 43%)

Macallan 1874 Replica First Release (70cl, 45%)
1874 Replica
The story behind the controversial Replica series began in the early 2000s when a surprising number of 19th century Macallans began appearing on the second-hand market. Keen to rediscover a part of its history, the distillery snapped up as many as they could from auction and private collectors. Shortly afterward, they announced their intention to release a series of replicas that recreated the style and flavour of these antique expressions.
At the same time, a few eyebrows were being raised by prominent members of the whisky community, who weren’t entirely convinced of the authenticity of these supposed relics. Bowing to pressure, Macallan sent samples away to be carbon dated, but proceeded to release the replicas anyway. Eventually the distillery admitted that the tests showed the whiskies they’d sampled were indeed fake. Despite this revelation, or possibly because of It, the Replica series has become increasingly collectible.

Macallan 1861 Replica
Released in 2002, this replica bottling was created to mimic a bottle of Macallan purportedly produced in 1861. It is one of four releases that also include replicas of bottles from 1841, 1874 and 1876.
The purpose of this series was to re-create the four antique expressions of Macallan in terms of bottle and label design, as well as to be an accurate re-creation of the whisky’s nose and flavour. Several years after these replicas were released, it transpired that many of these bottles (which were purchased by Macallan) turned out to be fake. This release was one of those.
Despite this controversy, the collectability of these releases has only increased.

Macallan 1851 Inspiration
Macallan 1851 Inspiration is the final bottle in the set of 5 of Macallan’s famous ‘Replica’ series, the 1851 edition which was bottled in the 2000s. The set of 5 bottles have an interesting back story and include The Macallan Distillers Limited (as it was known at the time) buying a number of old and rare bottles during the late 1980s and early 1990s.
These old bottles were then used as the source to create the replica series where Macallan tried to replicate the nose, the taste and the packaging of some of their bottles from earlier times. They drew a tiny sample from the bottle and together with his team of expert nosers, began to search for whisky which matches the profile.
As well as replicating the whisky they were determined to recreate the 1851 bottle and labels. The challenge for Stolzle Flaconnage was to reproduce the idiosyncratic irregularities of a mid-19th-century mouth-blown bottle with 21st-century technology. To reconstruct the labels, calligrapher Carol Kemp re-drew the individual letters while illustrator Brian Taylor reproduced the sketch.’
This highly collectable, limited release Macallan 1851 Inspiration Replica bottling was designed to recreate the spirit and overall style of Macallan as of 1850s.
Inspired by the production from their own history, Macallan released this bottled based on what they would have been doing in 1851. The bottles were handmade and the corks were placed by hand. As a final touch, the bottles were sealed by wax by hand-dipping.

The 1841 was the third in a series of controversial replica bottlings of Macallan from the distillery. Whatever the provenance of the bottles that were replicated, the whisky is meant to be tremendous (the late great Michael Jackson gave this a 95 point score), ensuring that this is one of the most popular of these famous (notorious?) bottlings.

Royal Lochnagar distillery is based on the Abergeldie Estate in Royal Deeside, Scotland, close to the mountain Lochnagar.
The first Lochnagar distillery was burnt down in suspicious circumstances in 1824 and a replacement again burnt down in 1841. In 1845 John Begg built the “new” Lochnagar. The distillery was awarded its Royal Warrant in 1848 when John Begg invited Prince Albert to visit the distillery from the nearby Balmoral Castle, the Queen’s residence in the Highlands. The next day the distillery was visited by Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and their children.
Today Royal Lochnagar is owned by Diageo, and the distillery produces a relatively small amount of whisky, most of which is used in Johnnie Walker black and blue label.

Littlemill 29 Year Old Private Cellar Edition 2019 No.258 70cl, 47.3%
The first two pictures are from the actual bottle, if you’d like more detailed photos just get in touch!
A rare chance to try whisky from the sadly closed Littlemill Distillery! This is the 2019 edition of the Private Cellar release, and the whisky itself was aged for 29 years before being bottled up at 47.3% ABV. This set comes with a handsome presentation case, a 5cl bottle of the whisky (so you can taste it without having to open the full bottle), and even a piece of stave from a Littlemill cask! A release of 600 bottles.
Littlemill 29-year-old, the latest expression from Littlemill’s Private Cellar collection, will be released this September, using liquid carefully selected from some of the last remaining casks to be laid down at the Littlemill Distillery.
Now recognised to have been the oldest licensed distillery in Scotland, the distillery fell silent in 1994 and was destroyed by fire in 2004, making this liquid exceptionally rare and covetable.
Littlemill 29-year-old is the third release from the Private Cellar Collection, each crafted by Master Blender Michael Henry in Littlemill’s traditional Lowland ‘floral’ style. This latest release places emphasis on developing the wood character and only 600 bottles will be released across the world.
The liquid is contained within a bespoke Glencairn crystal decanter etched with an illustration of the River Clyde and a silver star signifying the Littlemill distillery’s location. Situated in Bowling on the banks for the River Clyde, it would prove to be a defining factor in the distillery’s success, opening important trade routes to key cities including Glasgow and Edinburgh when the Forth and Clyde Canal was completed in the 1790s.
The beautifully crafted presentation box also includes a 5cl miniature of the liquid, a piece of an original Littlemill cask, and a booklet sharing the fascinating history of the Littlemill distillery with tasting notes from Master Blender Michael Henry.
Whisky production at Littlemill, situated in Bowling on the banks of the River Clyde near Glasgow, continued until the distillery fell silent in 1994 and was subsequently destroyed by fire in 2004, never to produce a drop again.

Ledaig Rioja Cask Finish Sinclair Series 70cl, 46.3%
The first release in Tobermory distillery’s Sinclair Series, this smoky Ledaig single malt has been made with heavily-peated barley and finished in hand-selected Rioja casks. Aromas of Turkish Delight, candied orange peel, leather, black pepper and dark chocolate fill the nose, complemented by notes of almond, raspberries, vanilla, cinnamon and freshly cut grass on the palate over rich waves of savoury peat smoke.
Ledaig 21 Year Old Oloroso Cask Finish Darkness (50cl, 47.9%)
This peated Ledaig single malt from Tobermory matured for 12 years, including a finish in a custom-made oloroso sherry octave cask. Octaves are the cask of choice for indie bottler Darkness, their smaller size ensures greater interaction between spirit and wood during maturation, in turn ensuring heaps of sherry character in the final whisky.
Ledaig 18 Year Old 70cl, 46.3%
Ledaig! Is a cracking single malt that proves Islay isn’t the only place to get your hands on splendidly peaty whisky – the Tobermory distillers on the Isle of Mull also know their way around peated malt for sure. This is the 18 Year Old Ledaig single malt, which offers up hearty phenols, smoky herbs, cracked black pepper and balancing waves of Sherry-soaked fruit.
Ledaig 10 Year Old Old Bottling (70cl, 46.3%)
A peated whisky from the Tobermory distillery on the Isle of Mull, named after the distillery’s previous rebirth. Maritime and smoky, this whisky rivals Islay whiskies in terms of strength, and the 10-year maturation balances the intensity of youth with a rounded, well-aged spirit.
Ledaig 10YO is neither a smooth nor elegant whisky, but it is crisp, engaging, complex, colourful, tasty and naughty, and that may not sit well with conservative whisky fans.
Ledaig single malt Scotch whisky is produced at the Tobermory Distillery, the only distillery on the picturesque Hebridean Isle of Mull.
Its name comes from the original name for the area, Ledaig (Led-chig), from the Gaelic, meaning ?safe haven?. Ledaig, unlike Tobermory, is distilled from heavily peated malted barley. During the malting process, burning peat is used to dry the barley in a kiln. The reek from the burning peat is absorbed by the barley through the husk of the grain, and the reek remains through the mashing, fermentation and distillation processes, eventually leading to a single malt with a highly distinctive peaty, smoky taste. The result is an intricate Island Malt Scotch Whisky. The 2011 revamp of Ledaig, with new packaging and a solidly peaty whisky. Good work from Tobermory.
Ledaig 10 Year Old (70cl, 46.3%)
The Tobermory Distillery on the picturesque Isle of Mull isn’t home to just unpeated whisky. It also makes superbly smoky single malt under the name of Ledaig (that name isn’t simply a coincidence, by the way – Ledaig was one of the distillery’s previous names!). Distilled using the same pot stills as the classic unpeated Tobermory expression, just with peated barley instead, the whisky boasts plumes of rich, earthy, almost medicinal smoke, with underlying fresh fruit and crushed spice notes. This particular expression ages for 10 years before bottled at the very specific strength of 46.3% ABV.
Laphroaig The Ian Hunter Story Set Book 1 – 5 (5 x 70cl)
BOOK 1:UNIQUE CHARACTER
30 YEAR OLD 2019 IAN HUNTER
The first chapter in The Ian Hunter Story, Book 1: Unique Character represents Laphroaig traditions born out of Ian Hunter’s formidable character and unyielding influence. This 30-year-old non-chill filtered whisky aptly aged in first-fill bourbon barrels is where Ian Hunter’s influence is most obvious, having been the catalyst for the introduction of American white oak barrels into the maturation process of Laphroaig,Over time, the original smokiness of this 30-year-old whisky has become less of an assault on the senses. Beautifully married with the sweet vanilla notes enhanced with ageing, the whisky develops into a more mature, well-rounded dram.
BOOK 2: THE ICON
30 YEAR OLD 2020 IAN HUNTER
The second release in our Ian Hunter Story pays tribute to the Icon that Ian Hunter built more than 100 years ago and honours his understanding that no one thing is more important to the creation of Laphroaig than the place it comes from – Islay and the ‘hollow by the bay’ where Laphroaig® first came into being. Aged for 30 years in Spanish Oak Oloroso Sherry oaks, this non-chill filtered whisky is underscored with Laphroaig’s signature characteristic peatiness, making this second book a unique peated single malt whisky journey through history.
BOOK 3: SOURCE PROTECTOR
33 YEAR OLD 2021 IAN HUNTER
This 33-year-old Vintage 1987, Ex-Bourbon Barrel Matured Single Malt is the third release in our series of rare and collectable aged whiskies to celebrate the story of Ian Hunter.Book Three: Source Protector celebrates the legacy of Ian Hunter, the last of the Johnston family to own and manage the Laphroaig® distillery, and his fight to protect the Kilbride Stream. This is a story of uncompromising guardianship and a battle between neighbours, over every distillery’s essential lifeblood, its source of water.Having been fully matured in ex-Bourbon barrels, Laphroaig’s characteristic peatiness really shines through the creamy liquorice notes of this 33-year-old single malt, creating a whisky as distinctive as the man it’s named after.
BOOK 4: MALT MASTER
34 YEAR OLD 2022 IAN HUNTER

Perhaps not for everyone, this will be a taste like no other.
BOOK 5: ENDURING SPIRIT
34 YEAR OLD 2023 IAN HUNTER
Book 5 is the final release in this iconic, beloved series and is aptly named Enduring Spirit, celebrating the lasting legacy of the final member of the Johnston family to own and manage the Laphroaig distillery.Ian Hunter had astounding vision for Laphroaig’s future, and he nurtured its growth alongside the rich heritage of Islay and its people. Thanks to this dedication and passion, the Scotch whisky you enjoy today boasts such a distinctive flavour that sets it apart from the crowd. His vision and doggedness, while occasionally polarising in life, are characteristics that have been essential to imparting a lasting impact on the processes and practices still in place on our island home today. There can be no finer way to culminate this series dedicated to Ian and his life than paying tribute to the enduring spirit he has left behind. The final instalment is a 34-year-old single malt with intriguing flavours of classic Laphroaig peat combined with accents of fruity blueberry and sweet, rich butterscotch. This combination of classic and modern flavours showcases the evolving vision and individuality that Ian Hunter had in mind for Laphroaig whisky, making it certainly a legacy of spirit that will endure.
Laphroaig Select (70cl, 40%)
This Laphroaig is created from carefully selected casks of each of our key styles. Mostly, these are historic styles, with one notable addition: the heart of the spirit is drawn from a final maturation in American oak casks rarely used for scotch whisky.
With spirit selected by our master distiller from Quarter Cask, our PX Cask and Triple Wood (Oloroso sherry) and a final addition of 10 Year Old, it represents a subtle blending of peat, oak and sweetness.
Bottled at natural colour, the result is an exquisite Laphroaig with our trademark peat reek matched by an additional layer of complexity and depth brought about by the fusion of the maturation styles and different oaks.
Laphroaig Quarter Cask (70cl, 48%)
This expression offers an irresistible doubling of flavour due to the double maturation in two casks made of American oak.
Still-maturing whisky from our standard ex-bourbon barrels is transferred to quarter casks and left to rest in our warehouse just a stone throw from the Atlantic shore.
This process represents Laphroaig breathing new life into a once-defunct tradition: the use of the smaller cask size, which ensures increased contact with the oak, creating a soft and velvety edge to complement Laphroaig distinctive peatiness.
On the nose the sensation is toffee and caramel, caused by the vanillas and tannins of the American oak, plus a dryness from the wood oil.
The finish is long and alternates between this sweetness and smoke.
Laphroaig PX Cask Triple Matured Edition 2023 (1L, 48%)
Laphroaig Lore (70cl, 48%)
Created by Distillery Manager John Campbell, Laphroaig Lore is said to be the richest ever Laphroaig! Named after the skills passed down over the generations, this permanent addition to the range is matured in a combination of casks including first fill Sherry butts and quarter casks and is said to contain some of their “most precious stock”.

Laphroaig Brodir (70cl, 48%)
Laphroaig’s Brodir single malt Scotch whisky was originally released to the Travel Retail market. You can probably guess what ‘Brodir’ means in ancient Norse – of course, it’s ‘Brother’.
For this expression, the Islay distillers first matured the whisky in ex-bourbon barrels before transferring it over to casks which previous held Ruby Port. The combination of Laphroaig’s classic coastal peaty gorgeousness with the elegance of the Ruby Port finish make Brodir a very handsome dram indeed.
