Gin is a distilled alcoholic drink that derives its predominant flavour from juniper berries (Juniperus communis). Gin is one of the broadest categories of spirits, all of various origins, styles, and flavour profiles, that revolve around juniper as a common ingredient.
Gin today is produced in subtly different ways, from a wide range of herbal ingredients, giving rise to a number of distinct styles and brands. After juniper, gin tends to be flavoured with botanical/herbal, spice, floral or fruit-flavours or often a combination. It is most commonly consumed mixed with tonic water. Gin is also often used as a base spirit to produce flavoured gin-based liqueurs such as, for example, Sloe gin, traditionally by the addition of fruit, flavourings and sugar.

  • ( 0 Customer Review )

Gin Mare is surely one of those drinks that are absolutely unique. It belongs to a generation of gins that clearly distinguish themselves from everything that’s existed before. This is due to a completely new ingredient philosophy followed now by numerous gin manufacturers. It basically comes down to: the more exotic the botanicals, the more interesting the drink. Gin Mare gets its great taste from thyme, rosemary, basil and Arbequina olives. It represents the Mediterranean origin of the Spanish drink which is produced at the Costa Daurada. Coriander, cardamom, orange and lemon peels and of course juniper round the gin’s character off.

The Gin Mare Lantern Edition contains one bottle of Gin Mare which comes inside of a beautiful lantern. This marvellous accessory comes with a design on its sides which you can also find on the bottle. Those are Arbequina olive leaves. Make a special person very happy by gifting them the lovely Gin Mare Lantern Edition!

From French distiller Comte de Grasse comes its inaugural gin, 44°N! The spirit is inspired by perfume production methods, and is made using ultrasonic maceration, vacuum distillation and CO2 supercritical extraction. That all sounds very high tech and fancy, but in fact these techniques are also incredibly sustainable and efficient. The list of botanicals is extensive, with cade (a species of juniper), verbena, everlasting (a golden flower), horse parsley, samphire, lavender, mimosa, grapefruit, patchouli and Sichuan pepper among a few of them. The gin is inspired by the Mediterranean, right down to it’s brilliant blue bottle.

Also, you know how baby oil isn’t made of babies? Elephant Dry Gin isn’t made of elephants either. In fact, it’s actually helping them survive, as 15% of Elephant Gin’s profits go to two African elephant foundations (Big Life and Space for Elephants) to support rangers who protect against poachers and run education projects in local communities. The word “barrister” comes from the English word “bar”, it is the barrier that separates the judge from the defendant. This is the highest rank of lawyer in Britain. From the fifteenth century, prisoners could instruct “a cultured and eloquent friend” to protect their interests. The lawyers had access to the “judicial bar”, so they could be heard by the court in the interest of their client. The lawyer’s speech in court is precise and sharp as a blade. In England it is said that the gin is “cold like steel”-due to the strong cold aftertaste.

Aviation Gin (70cl, 42%)

In stock
  • ( 0 Customer Review )

A batch-distilled American gin that’s inspired by the fuller-bodied Dutch style and championed by Ryan Reynolds, whose body we can’t comment on for legal reasons.

Created by distillers Lee Medoff and Christian Krogstad, who teamed up with Seattle mixologist Ryan Magarian, this spicy, floral gin is made with rye neutral grain spirit and a ‘botanical democracy’ of juniper, cardamom, coriander, lavender, anise, sarsaparilla and orange peel.

This is, unsurprisingly, excellent in an Aviation cocktail, but also works well in a Martini and a G&T.

STEP 1: INFUSION

It all starts with our precise blend of botanicals – cardamom, coriander, French lavender, anise seed, sarsaparilla, juniper, and two kinds of orange peel. The botanicals are suspended in a pure, neutral grain spirit for 18 hours in macerating tanks.

STEP 2: DISTILLATION

The macerate is then pumped into a still along with pure water. Steam jackets heat the macerate, the vapors go into the condenser, which cools the vapors to form the gin distillate.

STEP 3: THE CUT

In a meticulously monitored process, the first fluid leaving the still, the “heads,” is removed. Collecting the “heart of the spirit” throughout the run, the distillers then determine the end of the cycle and make the final cut, “the tails.” This process takes approximately 7 hours and at this point, the “heart cut” is 142 proof.

STEP 4: BLENDING & BOTTLING

The “heart cut” is transferred to a blending tank where pure water is added, bringing the gin to the desired 84 proof. It is then sent to the bottling line for filling, capping, and labeling. Aviation is then hand-packed into boxes and ready to ship.

Australia has given us many great things, including AC/DC, Hugh Jackman and big things (there are over 150 sculptures of things that are big all over Australia, including a big pelican, a big rum bottle and a big bench). However, we’re so fond of one Australian export that we made a gin dedicated to it – finger limes! These odd fruits have a texture that’s a bit like caviar, and they taste absolutely amazing. They were destined for gin!
