It’s a 70cl bottling of Tanqueray No. 10! The expression was launched in 2000 and is made with whole fresh citrus fruits. Presented in a classic green bottle that looks like it stepped straight out of the roaring ‘20s, this citrus-forward gin is perfect for classic cocktails.

And it’s this recipe that led to the creation of Whitley Neill Blood Orange Gin. Whilst most of Johnny Neill’s inspiration for his award-winning Gins comes from his ancestor’s intrepid exploits abroad, this Rhubarb & Ginger Gin harks from fond memories made slightly closer to home. Post-war, the Whitley Family, now settled into rural England near Daresbury, cultivated their garden with thrilling flavours, serving as inspiration for both the table and indeed their experimentation with new Gins. Johnny’s latest Gin evokes childhood memories of visiting his grandparents on their farm by taking a firm Whitley family favourite in rhubarb and placed a warm twist on this with the addition of fresh ginger.

From French distiller Comte de Grasse comes its inaugural gin, 44°N! The spirit is inspired by perfume production methods, and is made using ultrasonic maceration, vacuum distillation and CO2 supercritical extraction. That all sounds very high tech and fancy, but in fact these techniques are also incredibly sustainable and efficient. The list of botanicals is extensive, with cade (a species of juniper), verbena, everlasting (a golden flower), horse parsley, samphire, lavender, mimosa, grapefruit, patchouli and Sichuan pepper among a few of them. The gin is inspired by the Mediterranean, right down to it’s brilliant blue bottle.

A batch-distilled American gin that’s inspired by the fuller-bodied Dutch style and championed by Ryan Reynolds, whose body we can’t comment on for legal reasons.

Created by distillers Lee Medoff and Christian Krogstad, who teamed up with Seattle mixologist Ryan Magarian, this spicy, floral gin is made with rye neutral grain spirit and a ‘botanical democracy’ of juniper, cardamom, coriander, lavender, anise, sarsaparilla and orange peel.

This is, unsurprisingly, excellent in an Aviation cocktail, but also works well in a Martini and a G&T.

STEP 1: INFUSION

It all starts with our precise blend of botanicals – cardamom, coriander, French lavender, anise seed, sarsaparilla, juniper, and two kinds of orange peel. The botanicals are suspended in a pure, neutral grain spirit for 18 hours in macerating tanks.

STEP 2: DISTILLATION

The macerate is then pumped into a still along with pure water. Steam jackets heat the macerate, the vapors go into the condenser, which cools the vapors to form the gin distillate.

STEP 3: THE CUT

In a meticulously monitored process, the first fluid leaving the still, the “heads,” is removed. Collecting the “heart of the spirit” throughout the run, the distillers then determine the end of the cycle and make the final cut, “the tails.” This process takes approximately 7 hours and at this point, the “heart cut” is 142 proof.

STEP 4: BLENDING & BOTTLING

The “heart cut” is transferred to a blending tank where pure water is added, bringing the gin to the desired 84 proof. It is then sent to the bottling line for filling, capping, and labeling. Aviation is then hand-packed into boxes and ready to ship.

Soli Pink Gin is made from the same formula as our London Dry Gin which is distilled from 11 botanicals with juniper and coriander, citrus peels: grapefruit, lemon, sweet and bitter orange, some floral: chamomile, jasmine and orris root, and also cubeb berries. Our London Dry Gin is then blended with cherries and adjusted with potable water to bring it to 38%.

Soli Pink Cherry gin at 38% is a well-rounded gin, with a pleasant zingy note and a lovely fruity allure. There is no added sugar in the Soli Pink Gin.

The inspiration for Angelica Blue comes from Cyprus’ rich and lush citrus fruit orchards. We have combined 10 organic, local hand-picked botanicals, and spices with local citrus fruit and a flower from the Far East adding a note of mystery and surprise! Angelica Blue is sourced, produced, distilled, and bottled in Cyprus. It’s a gentle, complex, and aromatic gin, with a citrus fruit beginning and a long, complex botanical finish giving it a balanced 3-dimensional character. Angelica Blue is a gin with a twist! It has a blue color that transforms into pink when tonic is added to it!

Bloom Gin is a superb London Dry Gin produced by Greenall’s and named “Bloom” in reference to the floral nature of its botanicals: honeysuckle, pomelo and chamomile. In 2010 it was awarded a Platinum Medal at the World Spirits Competition.
